Hi, my name is Jennifer Leggett, and I have a confession to make: I don’t like coffee. This sentiment can seem positively un-American in a coffee-obsessed culture, populated by cappuccinos, frappuccinos, and machiatos. For years, when people had coffee after meals, I was stuck drinking water; that is, until I fell in love with tea.
My journey from tea-drinking beginner to unabashed tea lover was rocky. Basically, I had no idea what I was doing. Loose leaf, blends, oolong, steeping—it all seemed like gibberish to me. This blog is intended to be the platform I desperately needed when I started getting into tea. My mission is to explore the basics of tea, as well as the etiquette, culture, and lifestyle that have formed around this beverage. I also want this blog to be a “tearoom,” a place where you can ask questions, make comments, and meet people.
I am now a senior public relations student at the University of Florida and am still growing on my tea journey (which never ends, by the way). In addition to tea, I love reading, writing, art museums, and The Beatles. I hope this blog will help me refine my identity as a tea drinker and learn more about all things tea.
If you would like to send me a message, fill out the form on the Contact page. Cheers!
